What is IRIS?

IRIS is a revolutionary system for establishing two-way communications with travelers. It allows operations center staff to distribute and receive targeted information from drivers quickly and easily. Through a simple interface, IRIS displays the locations of drivers in the affected area, and also presents a screen for managing communications to individual drivers, groups of drivers or all affected drivers, based on agency-determined criteria. IRIS also provides a survey feature to allow agencies to learn more about the types of vehicles and passengers that are part of the event. The survey is presented to travelers via web page and IVR. The core IRIS functionality uses familiar technologies: a web site, an interactive voice phone system, text messaging.

What is IRIS Command?
